I want to share what I've been reading lately, so here are a few book recommendations:
Embraced by Lysa TerKeurst: This devotional book has changed my life for the better. I was getting up at 4:30 to read my devotions, but that wasn't working for me. Now, I read my devotions after work and it instantly calms me down, takes my focus off of work and onto God and His peace. I immediately calm down, read the Word, and relax. I take a few minutes to pray before I read, then dive in to these 5 minute or less devotions. There is power packed in these devotions. I love Lysa TerKeurst and how she packs real life situations into her devotions. Highly recommend.

2. Every Moment Holy - Volume 1 Pocket Edition: This book of Liturgy's is so inspiring & somewhat humorous, but packed with reminders of God's grace and loving kindness! For example, there is a Liturgy for the Ritual of Morning Coffee. It reads "Meet me, O Christ, in this stillness of morning. Move me, O Spirit, to quiet my heart. Mend me, O Father, from yesterday's harms. From the discords of yesterday, resurrect my peace. From the discouragements of yesterday, resurrect my hope. From the weariness of yesterday, resurrect my strength. From the doubts of yesterday, resurrect my faith. From the wounds of yesterday, resurrect my love. Let me enter this new day, aware of my need, and awake to your grace, O Lord. Amen."

3. The Woman's Study Bible - NIV Version. I love this Bible. While I would love to be using my Life Application Bible my Mom and Dad gave me as a present when I was younger, unfortunately, Jasper got hold of it and tore the leather off of it and tore some of the pages. Thankfully, the handwritten message from my Mom and Dad was not damaged and is still intact, but the Bible is too ruined to use everyday. This Bible is easy to read, understand, and I highly recommend it. It's also pretty, too - that counts! :)

4. How to Get a Date Worth Keeping by Dr. Henry Cloud. Look, your girl is single as can be and is looking for a date. Not just any date though. I'm picky. This book teaches you how to get and go on better dates, and overcome sticking points to get the dates you want. I'm only 100 pages into this book but it's been a great read so far and it's very challenging & a little scary, too. Like I said, it challenges you to think and do outside your box.

5. The Forgotten God by Francis Chan. My Single's Small Group is currently doing this study and MAN, is it AWESOME. Have you EVER thought about the Holy Spirit as a separate person who has his own mind and prays for us and yet is God? I challenge you to read this book. Chapter 3 describes the Theology of the Holy Spirit and states 1) The Holy Spirit is a Person, 2) The Holy Spirit is God, 3) The Holy Spirit is eternal and holy, 4) The Holy Spirit has His own mind and prays for us, 5) The Spirit has emotions, 6) The Holy Spirit has His own desires and will 7) The Holy Spirit is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. WOW. This book has totally opened my eyes to who what when and even how the Holy Spirit works in my every day life. This book has been challenging to read, and my group has has had some of the best conversations on this topic. You can even Google Francis Chan on YouTube to watch his series on this topic. Highly recommend.
